Here's the dilemma: I'd really like to e-mail him and say "Hey, what's up!?" -- not in a sexual way or anything, just hey! because he was someone I really did like. It's like I said, though: We broke up on pretty bad terms (aka he was a jerk, so I went all crazy pussy on him), so I'm wondering if he'd think I was a total stalker weirdo if I just e-mailed him out of the blue. I mean, all of this was, like, seven years ago, so could he still be freaked out about it? What do y'all think? Should I do it?

My vote: Let sleeping dogs lie.
I’m with Kate.
I vote write him. At the very least, it will be incentive for someone to learn how to strip off the got-damned mail headers from forwarded mail- I HATE that.
Funny how the girls say no and the guys say yes.
I have to disagree with Chris. If you write him and he doesn’t respond, you won’t be in the same place… instead you’ll be spending your quality time fretting over why he didn’t respond.
Also, there’s the old adage that women hope their men will change, but they don’t and men hope their women never change but they do. If he was a jerk before, I’m guessing he’s still a bit of one.
That’s not to say things won’t work now because they didn’t 7 years ago, but I’d ask myself before getting into something like this… exactly what do you intend to get out of contacting him? A friendship? A booty call? Think it over before you open that door again.
Wait, does this make me a chick?,

Go for it. The worst that can happen is that he doesn’t email you back. If that happens, you are in the same position you are now, so you have everything to gain.
Time heals all wounds. Things might never be the same as in the past, but you can never tell.
