This just in …

Serial killer David Maust hanged himself in the Lake County Jail early this morning. Some reports have him dead, while others say he's on life support.

[UPDATE: Word from the desk is he apparently is dead now. Poor bastard.]

[UPDATE #2: Well now, rumor has it that Maust DIDN'T finish the job but is brain dead. Thing is, he's in a Catholic hospital, so it'll be interesting to see whether or not they pull the plug or not. Poor bastard.]

Absolutely. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve everything he gets for what he did; he does. I’m just saying that given his history and the fucktards by whom he was/wasn’t raised, it’s just sad to me that any of this had to happen. I mean, it’s not like he was freakin’ Ted Bundy or anything.

No, ted bundy murdered adults, maust murdered children. Lots of people have crappy parents and grow up fine.

True. But then there are those that don’t, and they don’t get the help they need to not do the horrendous things they end up doing. I mean, the guy had the emotional maturity of a 9-year old, and you can’t fault him for that. You can only hold him responsible for his actions, as unconscionable as they were. That’s the way I see it, anyway.

Oh, no question. A nine year old who murders is still a murderor. emotional or physical immaturity doesn’t give you a pass on heinous crime. I’m sorry the guy had a bad life. I really am. I’m sorry ANYONE suffers, anytime, ever. nothing will bring those kids back to life, though.
