No, I don't want to be up this early -- never do, and don't know why I am -- but while I am, here's the e-mail invite Randy over at the
sent out for its gig this weekend. Dude fuckin' cracks me up. (Completely unrelated, I have that one Spacehog song that made it relatively big stuck in my head.)
Come one come all to the fabulous Sunset Lounge located, in the sleepy coastal fishing village of San Port Ageè. Where you can pamper yourself in Mediterranean like splendor on the beachfront deck while watching the sunset on the shores of Lake Michigan. While there, treat yourself to one of our handpicked Maine lobsters or a succulent prime rib entree prepared by world renown Chef Giovanni Fatibelli.
For your entertainment pleasure, starting at 9pm, popular latin heart throb “Juan De La Leonardo” will hit the main stage with his touring band, “The Chevy Impalas”. Don’t be alarmed at the beautiful Senoritas siren songs or feinting. I tell you very solemnly my friends, this is an occurrence Juan has no control over.
But no, we’re not done yet! If you pre-book your vacation with us in the next 10 minutes, we’re including not only Juan De La Leonardo and The Chevy Impalas, but also the nights main attraction, OVERDUE, for the same low price! Call now and be sure to mention the special code “Sunset Vacations” to receive this special offer.
Ok, really not….
Really Overdue is playing at the filthy Sunset Lounge in Portage on RT 6. They’ve been kind enough to let us open for them and get our fat arses off the couch. It has a gravel and mud parking lot. The cooks name is Tim and he rides a moped to work….. DUI doncha know. He wears a tattered greasy hoodie. His ballcap is always backwards on RT6 so the wind from passing semi’s don’t blow it off. He just makes basic stuff. Burgers and fries mostly. His specialty is deep fried vegetables of sorts and horseradish sauce. The guy who takes money at the door has a lazy eye, correctly guess which eye is looking at you (and which eye is simutaniously looking at the video poker machine), and win a veggie basket. If you haven’t seen Overdue yet, do yourself a favor and come check ‘em out! They play alotta pop/rock stuff from all eras, fun band! It’ll be a fun night, drinking and music followed by drinking and music and at some point followed by falling down….See ya there, this Saturday at 9….
Bite The Lime guys……
If you're out this way, go, whydoncha?
Oh, whatEVER.
